Brian Nelson– Director of Photography

Brian’s career started in the film laboratories of the National Film Unit, then working as a stills photographer and becoming a film cameraman for Television.

He was Supervising Film Cameraman with TVNZ in Christchurch, developed and tutored the New Zealand School of Broadcasting -Television Production course and joined TV3 Network (Mediaworks) at its’ start-up.

He currently runs his own Free-lance Production Company -(AVP)  Advanced Video Productions (established in 1994).

Brian covers a range of work from News, Current Affairs, Sports and Magazine stories to Children’s Drama and weekly Art and Science programmes, through to his main love- Documentaries.

With a great cameras and lighting kit, Brian delights in giving his clients great images to work with, in both still photography and moving images.

Brian has travelled the world as a cameraman and brings this experience to his role as chief Lighting Cameraman.
